I Need Tabby

Tiffany's sister Tabby is an amazing organizer. I am not. (I need her!)

But tonight I gave it a try.

I was totally sick of my disorganized kitchen. We've been in this house 4 years next month, and so my cupboards needed an overhaul. Well, they've actually needed it for a while. But I just close them and try to forget about it!

It was a four hour project and my back is killing me, but I feel better. I threw away so much STUFF. Just STUFF. Clutter. Old tupperware lids, old food, broken bowls.

This is just the beginning. So many other closets in the house need this kind of attention. Why are these projects SO easy to put off when they are SO worth it when they're done?

I didn't remember to do lots of before & afters, but here are a few....

I think that my kids would like me to do the same thing. If they open the pantry they learn to move their toes just incase a can falls onto their foot, or if they open the cupboard, usually, something falls onto your head. It is time to stop the maddness! Thanks for the motivation.

GOOD JOB JAMIE! Wow, I can appreciate how that feels. I just organized 4 cabinets and the pantry this weekend, and it took me two days to get to just that. I am SO impressed you plowed through it ALL AT ONCE!!! I feel inspired, I will try to get to the rest of the kitchen during this week. (I'm slower) I bet it feels so good, did you keep walking back into your kitchen, opening doors just to look at how organized and neat everything looked? :) Way to go!

i was just getting all caught up on your blog. first off, that totally stinks about the missionaries AND tucker being sick. but maybe you should post your lemon alfredo recipe cause that sounded so tasty! secondly, how awesome that you got to get some classroom experience (even though i know you have already had that). i'm not kidding when i say, you were MADE to be a teacher! i would have so loved to have you as one of my teachers! about the red hair, i used to love when you asked if your hair was the same color as someone else's. it made me laugh. and i feel like i have had this exact conversation a million times with chris. funny thing is that he always said he would NEVER marry someone with remotely red hair because he hated it growing up. guess i changed his mind! and honestly you are one of the most beautiful people i know, ESPECIALLY because of your red hair! what an ambitious project to take on, and it looks GREAT! i'll be doing that in a few weeks when we move! ok, i'm done now!

I did that when I had to sell my house! It is the best feeling when it is done. Now as I empty boxes in my new house I am still trying to do it:)

thats exactly what I meant when I said that I wish I would have been doing organizing all along, instead of just because I'm showing my house. It takes GREAT MOTIVATION though to do it for no reason.
