Breakfast of Champions

This is what Jordyn requested for breakfast this morning: Nuggets with buffalo sauce.

Burn your tongue off first thing in the morn......pretty typical request for a 5 year old, don't you think? Really, though, Jordyn has ALWAYS loved spicy, hot stuff.

And this morning I was in no mood to do my usual "that's not a breakfast food, honey" spiel.

At least she's got a tummy full of [processed] protein to start the day, right?

I'm having this same breakfast problem with my 5 year old! She won't eat anything remotely close to breakfast food. Most mornings we are doing the grilled cheese thing. Let me know if you find some good tricks! J

I just gave in, and actually, I think it's great that they do not get caught up in "breakfast food". I mean, do YOU know of many HEALTHY breakfast foods? I say, if they want left-over chicken, rice, etc, it's better for them than sugar cereal, pop-tarts, pancakes, etc. Josh asked for sushi and miso soup the other day! Good protien Jordyn!!!

I don't think it is important to eat breakfast food for breakfast. I like it better for dinner anyway.

Hey, at least she is eating! It's not like you are feeding her candy and ice cream for breakfast. actually, that looks pretty good to me (the chicken nuggets, not the candy)

If she will eat it then let her. I let my kids eat whatever as long as they will eat breakfast. I was and still am kind of the same way. I have never really liked cereal.

OK, I just have to tell you, for some reason, those look REALLY good to me, and it was all I could do to keep myself from running to the corner Wendy's and buying some chicken nuggets for my breakfast this morning. :) I'm having a wierd day. :)

Now, that's my kind of breakfast! Hence the reason I keep a bag of buffalo wings in the freezer at all times! Just have some waffles for dinner and it all balances out just fine!

mmm... that actually looks really yummie.. I agree with you as long as they have some kind of protein in their tummy is what's important-I'm battling my picky eater who only eat yougurt, bananas or chinese food for every meal.. I asked her this morning what she wanted and she said Chinese food mommy.. . I give in just cause i figure well it's food right?
