Family Reunion Day 3

We woke up on Day 3 around 6:30 am.  Or at least that’s when we started hearing kids wake up.  Our kids got up a little after 7:00.  I was happy to get up because I was so uncomfortable anyway.  But even with no sleep, I  love the peacefulness of a tent in the mountains.  Neal cooked up some incredible omelets for breakfast and we continued to sit around the fire and just chill.

After an early lunch, we loaded up and headed to a nearby lake for a beautiful stroll.  It was the perfect nature-walk for the kids. Peyton continued her attachment to her “best friend” Emmi (her 14 year old cousin).  They were inseparable.  I was worried Emmi was feeling smothered since she is the oldest of five kids.  But she told me she loved it!

After our walk, we were all pretty exhausted so we headed home in the mid afternoon to re-fuel for the rest of the week!

Justin was able to fly in Wednesday evening from Washington to join us for the rest of the reunion, so he stopped by to say hi to Grandma.  This is Jeannine with her two oldest grandchildren, CJ (24) and Justin (22).
