Our Palm Tree

We planted this beautiful palm tree in our front yard about two years ago. It's grown quite rapidly and we always get compliments on it. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to it. We had a guy come prune our trees and he said those types of palms are not good for yards; they get way too huge before they get tall, and the needles can poke through skin....he said with kids he would never want that around. It could take out an eye or somthing worse. So we agreed and had them remove it. Maybe we can find a more kid-friendly palm to replace it!

I didn't even think of it when I saw your palm, it looks just like the kind we had in Spain. When Bill was trimming it one time, he got a needle stuck in his leg and it had to be surgicaly removed! They do get really tall really fast, good thing you had it taken out. There are better trees for your beautiful California weather.
