West Coast Dance Explosion Convention and KAR Competition - April 2016

West Coast Dance Explosion was in Long Beach this year.  Jill and I decided to split a hotel room and save money.  Tucker and Peyton didn't come with us (Peyton didn't dance at this convention this year).  The girls had fun taking some cool pictures on the beach across the street from our hotel room.

Stretching for competition!

"Sing with a Swing"

This group "Let the Past Go, and the Past will Let Go of You" (teen contemporary) won SO MANY TIMES this year.  They were invited to the closing showcase performance too.

Scholarship winners...

These convention weekends are SOOO tiring.  The girls have really long, full days.  That begin at 6:30 and end close to midnight.

The next competition was in Fresno: KAR.  Fresno competitions are very spread out with our age range of dancers.  So we are often there from Friday afternoon until Sunday night (we go home to sleep for a bit).  Although we don't have convention classes like we do when we travel farther, these weekends are still long and intense and fun.

The girls were all singing being led by Hannah...we get a little loopy by the end of the night.

Peyton loves a PERFECT bun.

It was special to have Grandma come up and watch a few dances!
