I was calculating it and realized that this is our TENTH summer traveling from California to Utah to visit. Our visits have ranged from a few days to three weeks…depending on the summer. This year, we weren’t able to make any in-between visits…so it’s been a YEAR since we were here! Too long.
During that time, the Cutler’s and Gam & Pa came to CA for Lexi’s baptism in November, and then Tucker saw Maren, Greg, Taylor, Jaden, Gam, Pa, Derek and Lyndsy in China in March. But besides that, it’s been nada.
So after stopping for a little visit in Manti, we made it to Salt Lake to our little basement home at Gam & Pa’s house. It’s so nice, we have our own little space to (make a huge mess) live from. Makes the visit that much more enjoyable.
When we arrived, Friday night at 7:00, we were so excited that Emmi was here to surprise us, along with Maren and the kids!
Cousins galore! Kids love when their cousins all come in to swim at Gam & Pa’s house. When we are all together, there are nearly 30 people, so it’s quite a gathering! Jeannine made a nice Sunday dinner for ALL of us and I asked her if she realized that she was basically CATERING dinner for a huge group! I suggested that maybe we should sometimes do a potluck so all the work isn’t on her shoulders…but I think that’s a hard thing for Moms to do sometimes :-)
