Pey’s First Lost Tooth!

And thank heavens Aunt Lindy doesn’t mind!  I cannot stand loose teeth, it totally grosses me out.  And Tucker was out of town.  So Aunt Lindy came to the rescue!

Peyton’s Pretty Pink Cast

Having all girls, we have seemed to fall into the stereotypical scenario of not too many physical injuries or broken bones.  But in October, we were just at the tail end of a birthday party which had taken place at a trampoline/gym type place.  All of the sudden, Peyton was hysterical.  Her ankle hurt from landing wrong on the trampoline. As per usual for me, I under-reacted…held her for a bit and told her she was fine.  But by the next morning, when she told me she had CRAWLED to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I was worried.  Decided to take her in and sure enough there was the type of fracture that needed to be cast.  In children, it’s extra important that the bone grow back together perfectly.  I was thrilled, though, that she didn’t need crutches as well!  She could put pressure on it, but the cast kept it in the perfect position.  Baths were hard though!

 

 

Trinkets, Signs and More

This is just a random post to say that Trinkets is still hanging on in my life…somehow.  It really is a fun creative outlet/hobby/group of friends etc…but it is also the “thing” to go in my life when I (constantly) re-evaluate what really should still be on my plate.  But 3 1/2 years later, I just can’t QUITE let it go. 

 

The kids love it when they get to be involved with any sidewalk sales or festivals.  Jordyn made a bunch of bracelets and go to sell them one Saturday in October.  Now she is begging me to help her open an Etsy shop.  She is such an entrepeneur!

 

 

It’s fun to get creative and think of thinks to make next, ways to market and display the items, how to market on Facebook, etc. It’s also fun to be able to collaborate and share the business with Lindy and probably a huge part of why I haven’t let it go yet. I guess I’ve always looked at the sign-making (or more specifically Trinkets with the shift commitments I have there) as a temporary thing and keep feeling like “times up!”…particularly because of my Master’s and the priority that takes.  But who knows when the “end” really is.

 

Occasionally people still ask me to take pictures for them.  These are the feet of my friend Heather Clay’s little baby.

Our Animal Family (Zoo)

• Roxy (some kind of terrier)- 6 months old
• Belle (chihuahua Pomeranian mix) – 12 years old
• Kitty – 6 or 7 years old?
• Brownie and Oreo (bunnies) – almost 2 years old, their baby Flower 1 year old

 

• Roxy has a ton of energy and is so dang cute…tiny, and loves to dart out the front door any given chance.  She has made Belle young again, they play and are together all the time.
• Belle has arthritis, hardly any teeth and has fatty tumors on her stomach…but has become more lively once she surrendered to her new playmate.
• Kitty – pretty low maintenance, but can have an annoying meeeooooow.
• Bunnies are really soft and cute, but REALLY high maintenance and annoying in many ways.  Definitely gives my kids an additional learning experience tho!

I love our animals, so do the kids.  I sometimes wish we didn’t have any because leaving on a vacation would be a thousand times easier, as well as the days that we are all gone for 9 or 10 hours (most days).  They are unconditionally loving though, and who doesn’t need that!

 

 

 

(for a few weeks, Roxy was really into dragging birds into our house…three, to be exact!  One survived, two did not!)

Lexi Student of the Month, Again!

Lexi was the first student nominated in her class as Student of the Month.  She definitely deserves it.  Way to go Lex!!!

 

At the end of last school year, Lexi was asked by Mrs. Dupras (the principal) to make a poster to put on the fence for back to school.  She stressed about it, but did a great job!

Peyton Turns 6!!

 

Miss Pey Pey is 6 years old!  Such a sweet, spunky and smart girl!

 

It was fun to take some treats to her class for a little celebration at school.  She requested brownies and these little brownie bites from Costco were the perfect  size!

When my mom picked Peyton up from school, she brought balloons and Paxton RAN them up to Peyton with such excitement and said it was the greatest day of his life because it was Peyton’s birthday!  Isn’t that so sweet??

 

Then a few days later, a little birthday gathering with her friends and cousins (Prietos, Navisons and McLeods).  The kids mostly played!  But we did have pizza and special Mermaid themed (Peyton’s request) cupcakes by Megan Engstrom.
