NUVO Dance Competition

One week after our first dance competition in Fresno, we had one 3 hours away in Santa Clara. This was a competition AND convention, which means the girls take two days of classes from awesome master teachers. It's always an exhausting, yet rewarding and memorable, three days. 

Jo and Lex (in their teen contemporary group) were chosen to perform in the closing showcase...which is a big honor!

Spotlight- First dance competition

Our first dance competition of the season (Fresno)!! And we got diamonds for every dance we brought to the competition! Sadly, when I blog months after the event, I don't remember details...).

My (at the time) almost 14 year old. "Mom...why are you taking my picture". Plus I had to document the horribly messy counter.

I can't remember why I took this picture!? But I'm sure it was to document how crazy life feels when we are all working too much. I hate when three house gets this bad.

Mom will hate this pic, but I had to document our extremely scary experience with my mom having C-DIFF, a very bad intestinal infection. We could have lost her, the dehydration was soooooo bad. It resulted in almost a week in the hospital after a month in bed so sick and a previous visit to the ER where they sent us home. Apparently C-DIFF is not a routine test, so all the bloodwork kept coming back "fine". Thank heavens a doctor finally thought to ask for the stool test!!! There is very specific treatment required for this kind of intestinal infection. My dad and I lived at he hospital for a few days and then I HAD to leave for a dance convention in Santa Clara, so Lindy was able to fly out last minute to be with them. Thank goodness!! Mom was extremely weak when she got home and Lindy was a lifesaver as far feeding both mom and dad!!

It's amazing how much time it takes to rhinestone competition costumes!

This looks like a cheerful picture, when in reality it was a heartbreaking reason we were flying to Utah. My brother in law Jeff suddenly passed away. Which is still mind boggling to even type. So so sad and difficult- untimely deaths are just extra hard to accept.

Easter 2016

Just a few more pics from spring break.  I love these girls so much!

I distinctly recall Easter baskets being the very last thing on my mind, but we managed to do them anyway!

Luckily, it was pretty much all edible or usable so we wouldn't be adding to the clutter we were trying so hard to remove as we prepared to sell our house!

OK, so for Easter Family pictures.  We took the camera and tripod out to the country....set it up...and spent 30 minutes trying to capture some good pics.  We were hot and tired, but when I look back and the pictures...I don't see any of that.  I'm always glad when we make ourselves go snap a few family shots.
