Valentines Celebrations

Aside from the classroom celebrations, Grandma had a short and sweet Valentines party.  The girls each performed “I love you…and bushel and a peck” for us (I only got video no pics of that), she had some cupcakes and other treats in a bag for them.  And Aunt Kristy made custom cards for each child.  Very sweet!

We also got sweet cards in the mail from Gam and Pa with a $2 bill in each for the girls, and a little package from Aunt Maren with some treats and school pics of the cousins.

Oh, and this is a custom sign a friend ordered.  I thought it was cute.

Mardi Gras!

Mrs Stone did a brand new party this year – particularly to change it up for the three children who are in their second year with her.  Her parties all have very specific learning themes behind them as they “travel across America”.  She went all out (including her American Girl doll Molly, who had a brand new outfit on!) for this party and the kids had a blast!

Friends, Softball, Achievements and San Fran

I’m really digging these cluster posts where I can include several random events in one.  It’s making blogging possible these days!  Bad resolution cell phone pics and quick blog posts are my style right now :-)

Lexi’s pose is a bit scary here…but last week they were able to play with their friends Abigail and Mabel Lunde (both in their classes), great family and very sweet girls.  Their five kids and my three all posing on their trampoline!

A Sunday evening visit from the Lorang family…who moved away about 20 months ago and are trying to move back!

Jordyn came to San Fran with Mommy a few weeks ago!  She was able to help with Maren’s 3rd birthday party as the “ballet teacher” and hung out with Shana and family while I was at school.  It felt like a long day to leave her there…but she did great and had a fun time.  On our way home we stopped and shopped at Ikea…and she LOVED it, and was amazed.  It was fun to have some one on one time :-)

Achievements or Activity Days…I never know which to call it.  Amanda Huff is their (both Jordyn and Lexi) leader and she helped them put on little skits and invited the family for the production!

Just a few random softball practice pics.  Jordyn and Peyton both practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Jo is 4:30-6:00 and Pey is 5:00-6:00.  Different fields completely!  And Tucker is traveling the majority of the time, so I am running around a lot getting them to and from practice.  Thank goodness for Grandma and Grandpa…picking up often for me!  The weather is great this time of year and I like watching them.  Peyton is hilarious and is really loving it.  She is such a social person and such a team player.  She runs up to practice saying hi to all her team mates by name.  Not one ounce shy.  Makes me laugh.

Jog-a-thon 2012

Lexi’s school just does one fundraiser per year – and it’s my favorite fundraiser (which is saying a lot because I hate fundraisers…I should say I hate selling.  I’d rather have to pay a little bit for my kids to attend school!).  There are only two grades at her school - 2nd and 3rd grades – and they raise $30,000 from this ONE fundraiser!

The kids have to run as many laps (300 meters each…so approximately 5 laps is a mile) as they can in 30 minutes, and people pledge a donation per lap.  Lexi ran 18 laps!  Which is a little over 3 miles!  That’s amazing!  Way to go Lex!

Swingset, Tetherball and Wii

February through May is one of my most favorite times of the year in this part of Cali.  Our highs are between 58-70 and it is just so mild and enjoyable.  Kids can play outside, the door can stay open with no bugs flying in and out and I’m not feeling heat-induced-grumpiness!

I love the sound of kids happily playing…going from activity to activity in a group…the age-span nearly indetectable…cousins, friends, sisters.  These are the type of moments I know will be etched in my mind…and missed someday.
